Why LAI

The credibility of a serious awarding organisation. The clarity of a modern product.

Established awarding organisations are trusted but can feel bureaucratic. Modern digital products feel intuitive but rarely carry the authority governments and universities expect. LAI is built to be both.

What We Believe

The principles behind every decision we make.

These beliefs shape how LAI designs accredited programmes, protects standards and works with schools. They are the test every decision must pass.

01

A school’s curriculum, teachers and culture are its life’s work.

LAI works around what a school already does well. We strengthen standards, assessment and support without asking schools to give up the curriculum, teachers or culture that make them who they are.

02

No accredited programme should ask a school to surrender them to be taken seriously.

Strong standards should strengthen a school's identity, not replace it.

03

A grade is a promise about a young person’s future.

A school should be able to keep its identity and still be recognised for the standard it delivers.

04

Rigour and modernity are not opposites.

An accredited programme can hold the oldest academic values and still feel like it was made this decade.

05

Standards are kept by people, in the open.

An institution that protects fairness should be willing to be named, and answerable for it.

06

Education has only truly succeeded when a learner can go on to build a life.

At university, in work, or on their own terms.

The Gap LAI Closes

The Gap LAI Closes

Trust and experience have lived apart. They shouldn’t.

Trust and experience have lived apart. They shouldn’t.

A school should not have to choose between an accredited programme universities respect and an experience that works the way modern schools work.

Recognitions

The Recognition Standard.

LAI gives its own awards through programmes accredited by City & Guilds. LAI works with academic partners, including the University of Greenwich, for teacher training, professional development and capacity building at LAI-approved schools. LAI accredited programmes hold IBCC equivalency in Pakistan, and an ECCTIS review is in progress. Recognition varies by country, institution, programme and applicant profile. See Recognition & Benchmarking for detail by market.
